Many of my friends know that for years I have criticised my own industry for it’s lack of sophistication. Indeed since joining it eight years ago from a marketing profession, my sole mission has been to bring greater planning, insight and measurement to the profession.
Today agencies like Weber Shandwick have transformed the way they approach brand problems and I honestly believe at a strategic level, are beginning to compete on a level playing field with the best Brand Consultancies and Ad agencies.
I was therefore somewhat surprised when I watched this video posted by my great friend Richard Stacy, on an earlier post I wrote about the appointment of Leo Rayman to EMEA Planning Director at Weber Shandwick. For anybody in the PR profession, or indeed the Marketing profession, it is really worth a watch and a cue (may be) to look back to the future?
